“Think outside the spine: Percutaneous cementoplasty for the management of symptomatic extraspinal lesions” received the 2018 Outstanding Poster Award at SIR 2018.

The runner-up was “Incorporating data collection into the interventional radiology clinical workflow,” with first author Victoria Arendt, BS, Stanford University Medical Center. Co-authors were Rajesh Shah, MD, Stanford University Medical Center; Gloria L. Hwang, MD, Stanford University Medical Center; Eileen Loh, MS, Stanford University; Susan C Weber, PhD, Stanford University; and Lawrence V. Hofmann, MD, FSIR, Stanford University Medical Center.
SIR 2018 featured more than 100 traditional posters and more than 500 electronic posters. Scientific Program Chair Constantino Peña, MD, FSIR, said that posters and poster sessions allow attendees to browse and learn at their own pace and provide exposure to many different aspects of the meeting.
“Go ahead and venture into areas that you may know little about and see how they might change your practice or how you may strengthen your practice by being a little bit more on the cusp of things,” he said before this year’s meeting.
